Thinking out-of-the-box in pursuit of talent, Paul Russell Casting is known as a progressive, determined casting office whether working on new scripts, screenplays, Shakespeare or Sondheim.
Paul has been involved with the casting of Film: 20th Century Fox, HBO and the independent feature Following Bliss, TV; Cosby, Murphy Brown, New York theater; Cobb (Drama Desk Award - Outstanding Cast), Disney's, Beauty and The Beast, Damn Yankees (revival), London Suite, Woody Guthrie’s American Song (Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominations), Pera Palas (starring John Spencer), The Good Doctor (starring Andre DeShields and Jane Connell) and The New Living Room, featuring Lainie Kazan, Jerry Stiller and Illeana Douglas.
He cast the Off-Broadway premiere of String Fever starring Cynthia Nixon. For Radio City Entertainment/MSG Entertainment he cast Sleeping Beauty - A New Jerome Kern Musical and served five seasons as the resident casting director for The Lark Theatre Company.
Regional theater includes; Asolo Theatre Conservatory, Barter Theatre, San Jose Repertory, Florida Stage, American Heartland Theater, Casa Manana, Colonial Theatre, Two River Theatre, Madison Repertory, Riverside Theater, Barksdale Theater and regional Shakespeare festivals.
Paul is also a director (SDC member) and the author of ACTING: Make It Your Business - How to Avoid Mistakes & Achieve Success as a Working Actor and an acting / audition coach guiding actors on acting and audition technique, and marketing skills.
